RE-PIGMENTATION
PERMANENT MAKEUP
The field of permanent cosmetics is not a
regulated industry in the State of Arizona. Make sure
you research your provider! There are many providers
offering this service that are not credentialed. Arizona's HB 2666-441-H, it is unlawful for a person to engage in
the business of tattooing out of a home. The two national organizations offering
certifications are the American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM)
and the Society of Permanent Makeup Professionals (SPCP). In
order to keep their credentials, providers must obtain a certain
amount of continuing education credits every year.
Eyeliner
|
Eyeliner
is applied directly in the lash line for a
natural look. Some patients will desire a thicker
application which can also be achieved. The eyeliner
procedure has very little discomfort; "it tickles" patients will
say. A little swelling and redness is normal after the
original application. A few days later, a slight
exfoliation takes place showing a softer color. A touch up
appointment will be required approximately six weeks later.

Eyebrows
 |
The hair
line stroke technique is performed on every patient. More
than one color is used to add depth and dimension. There
is no or little downtime with the eyebrow procedure; the area
around the brows might be slightly red for a few hours.
The color of the brows appears one to two shades darker
immediately after the procedure. A few days later, a
slight exfoliation takes place showing a softer color. A
touch up application will be required approximately six weeks
later. |
Full Lip and Blended Lip
Procedures
The full
lip procedure has the most downtime. Since lips are more
vascular, swelling is expected. Also, the color will be
extremely bright until the exfoliation process begins.
After the exfoliation process, the color will appear very light.
The true color can take up to six weeks to surface; a touch up
appointment is scheduled for that time. The blended lip
line has less downtime but not every patient is a good
candidate.
